Xero Users to Secure Accounts with 2-Factor Authentication by 1 November 2022
Cyber Security is Our Top Priority
At SimplePay, we have always gone to great lengths to ensure that the software that we create is safe for our customers to use. In the face of a rising trend of cyber attacks, one of our main objectives is ensuring that our customer’s sensitive data is kept safe. With this in mind, we developed our 2-Factor Authentication (2FA) feature in 2018. This ensures that extra security measures can be taken to protect your SimplePay profile.
What is 2-Factor Authentication?
2FA adds a second layer of login security to your profile. This is achieved by using a verification code together with your email and standard password login. The verification code will also be required when trying to change your profile’s password. There are various different authentication apps that can be used to generate these codes.
Global Xero Change to Secure Your Account
As a trusted Xero app partner, SimplePay is here to help enforce Xero’s objective to safeguard our customers as much as possible. In a previous blog post written by Xero, they state that they have made the decision to make 2FA mandatory on all accounts globally. This decision was made wholly with customer safety in mind, and the deadline for the change is 1 November 2022. 2FA will need to be activated for your profile before the deadline, in order to continue accessing your Xero account through SimplePay.
If you are a Xero user and you don’t have 2FA set up, our help page here can take you through the process step by step. We have activated 2FA proactively for our Xero users, however, if you need further help to set this up, please contact our Support team at support@simplepay.co.za.
